Concert tour 2023 wraps up successfully

At the end of 2023, Mauricio Garza concluded successfully his concert tour, a series of concerts in Germany, Spain and Mexico, in which he performed music by Mozart, Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff and Scriabin. Of particular interest is his collaboration with friends and colleagues from the "Musikschule Bremen" institute at "Die Glocke", Bremens most prestigious concert venue. They performed works by Moszkowski and Dvorak, among others.
Piano Competition Judge in Lower Saxony

The German music council, the body in charge of managing the "Jugendmusiziert" piano competition in its 2023 edition, invited Mauricio Garza Salazar to participate as a judge in the piano category in its regional round, which takes place in the municipality of Syke in the state of Lower Saxony. Garza Salazar would like to extend his gratitude to the musical authorities in Germany and is looking forward to collaborating together in future projects.
Performances as orchestra soloist in 2022

2022 was a very important year for the artistic and stage development of Mauricio Garza Salazar. In the months of May and October he performed as a soloist with several prestigious ensembles in Mexico, like the Puebla Symphony Orchestra in Puebla and the UANL Symphony Orchestra in Monterrey, sharing the stage with great maestros such as the Chilean Francisco Rettig, the South Korean Jongwhi Vahk Park and Orlando Mora from Ensenada, Baja California. Audiences enjoyed the renditions of the 1st. Piano Concerto in E minor Op. 11 by F. Chopin and the 1st. Piano Concerto in C major Op. 15 by L. van Beethoven.

Garza Salazar returns to the stages as a recitalist in March 2022 after an extended concert hiatus due to the worldwide pandemic that started in 2020. He will perform music by Bach, Schumann, Beethoven and Debussy in the cities of Hamburg and Bremen in Germany. He took advantage of the forced isolation time to conceive this project, which has the topic of dreaming as its main focus. Audiences will enjoy the "Träumerei" (Dream in German) by R. Schumann and the "Reverie" (Dream in French) by C. Debussy, which will then be respectively followed by works of great bravura of the same composers, such as the Toccata Op. 7 and "L'Isle Joyeuse", among other works.
FIRST TIME COLLABORATION WITH THE "UNAM"

After a series of concerts in Germany and Spain, Mauricio Garza Salazar will perform for the first time in the facilities of the Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City at the Simon Bolivar Amphitheater. Although it will not be the first time he performs in Mexico City, it is an honor for him to collaborate with a prestigious institution such as the Autonomous University of Mexico. Audiences will get to appreciate the works of Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Prokofiev that the pianist has been performing on months prior..

Mauricio Garza Salazar will perform in a series of concerts through the month of May in the cities of Bremen, Hamburg, Madrid and Palencia. On this occasion, the pianist returns to the classical structuring of the program, covering the four main musical periods in piano music; the baroque, the classic, the romantic and the modern.
The repertoire to be presented includes:

Beethoven, Sonata Op. 109 in E Major
Chopin, Ballade oP. 52 in F minor and BARCAROLLE Op. 60
Prokofiev, Sonata No. 7 op. 83

The pianists Stefan Lindemann and Mauricio Garza introduced an interesting two-piano program that included the concertino Op. 94 by Dimitri Shostakovich and the variations on a theme by Haydn Op. 56b by the late romantic composer, Johannes Brahms in several halls in the surroundings of Lower Saxony, Germany.
In the series of concerts "4X4" in Ganderkesee, the pianists performed the same program four times for four different audiences. The pianists received standing ovations and the positive review of the newspaper "Weser Kurier", in which it was mentioned that the Pianists ".... interpreted the work with all possible means of expression, in a gesture full of joy and mastery ..."
Garza Salazar performs in prestigious piano festivals to critical acclaim.

Mauricio Garza Salazar was selected to participate in two of the most prestigious piano festivals in Mexico, the “Sala Beethoven International piano festival" in its 23rd edition in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon and the “Isauro Martínez Piano Festival" in its 13th edition in Torreon, Coahuila. This is an important milestone in his career, one that greatly strengthens his presence in the pianistic landscape of his native country.
Audiences, critics and press alike were able to appreciate his artistic development at this stage in his career and were delighted with first class renditions of pieces like Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata” and Schubert’s “Wanderer” Fantasie. This last work in particular received critical acclaim from the press, which had as headline “Garza Salazar shines with Schubert”

It is not a common ocurrence for a pianist to perform two works for piano and orchestra in one evening but Mauricio Garza Salazar did just that in an artistic collaboration with the "Camerata Siglo XXI" Chamber orchestra conducted by maestro Orlando Mora. The chosen works were Chopin's Concerto No. 1 in e minor op. 11 and Mozart's No. 23 in A-major Kv 488. The concerts took place as part of the "International Fall Festival" at the Reforma Theater in Matamoros, Tamaulipas and the "Conarte Concert Series" at the Arts Center in Monterrey, Nuevo leon in August 2017.
